Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.

Stateside performer Finn, who was seen in beloved programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, per media reports.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a message.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific TV Career

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.

Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
