Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the US has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
