Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, demons, and dark forces growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of heroes who will split off from the primary party to begin their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the party reach places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Explorers and Schemers parties.
Fans can look forward to learning which characters will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
