Three Athletes Shortlisted for Young Athlete of the Year Award

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.
These three athletes have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the last year.
Agyemang helped the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The three contenders were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.
This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.
The event will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being on the shortlist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and surged to prominence with an remarkable and historic innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin came in second place in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
