Toronto Blue Jays Secure World Series Matchup Against defending champion Dodgers
Springer previously helped the Astros winning the World Series in 2017.
Toronto's Blue Jays earned a spot in their initial championship series since the 1993 season by overcoming the Mariners in the seventh seventh game of the AL Championship Series.
Behind three runs to one, Springer smashed a three-run home run in the seventh, guiding the sole Canadian team in the majors to a 4-3 series victory in the best-of-seven series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, the team that is the defending champions, in the anticipated championship.
"I'm just so happy for everyone here, our city, our country," Springer stated, a key player of the Houston Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "What an unbelievable moment."
Springer has now connected for 23 playoff homers, ranking him third on the list after Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (27).
"It's hard to imagine another person in the world that I want up in that situation besides George Springer with his post-season brilliance," noted Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
Seattle's team, after leading the series 2-0 and 3-2, continue to be the sole team never to appear in a World Series.
Wilson commented "certainly that it hurts" after his club's elimination at their home ballpark, but applauded their performance this season.
"They're an exceptional squad. Unfortunately that we finished on the wrong side of the series," he remarked.
Toronto won the title on each of their earlier trips in the early 90s, and will host the Los Angeles in game one on Friday.
